The BLOM Bank Beirut Marathon

The 2016 BLOM Bank Beirut Marathon took place as thousands of runners of more than 99 nationalities gathered to take part in the various categories. All races began at Beirut Water Front and finished at Martyr’s Square.  Kenyan Edwin Kibet was victorious crossing the finish line with a time of 2:13:14. Each year the Beirut Marathon Association invite special guests to attend the big race; after Haile Gebreselassie, the Olympic Champion in 10 000 and 5000 meters, and Paul Radklif, the World Marathon record holder, this year the guest was not only an Olympic Champion but also the current President of the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF), Lord Sebastian Coe. Once again the event proved a huge success and was a fun-filled day for athletes and novices alike!
