A Night with Nobu and De Niro

Academy Award-winning actor Robert De Niro joined worldrenowned chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa to officially open the world’s largest Nobu restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel Doha, Qatar. Though the restaurant has been open to the public since April 2015, the official opening did not take place until recently. Dubbed ‘A Night with Nobu and De Niro’ the extraordinary evening was attended by 450 guests who enjoyed exquisite pass-around Nobu cuisine, such as salmon new style sashimi and scallop foie gras, signature Nobu cocktails and live entertainment by celebrated Japanese taiko drum performers and international sensation DJ SOMA. The evening also showcased a traditional Japanese Sake ceremony, or Kagami Biraki, in which the lid of the Sake barrel is broken open using a wooden mallet, representing an opening to harmony and good fortune. Much to the delight of the guests who had the chance to rub shoulders with the Hollywood icon, De Niro spent the evening mingling with fans, taking selfies and signing autographs.
