Heart to Heart… Soul to Soul

Going out for Valentine’s Day is perhaps one of the most popular and traditional ways of celebrating this romantic day. Where you go and what you do make all the difference between just another date and an incredibly memorable event. Whether you’ve already decided to go out for Valentine’s Day, or are still considering it, we’ve done some of the legwork for you and have compiled ideas for you. We’ve also included some tips on how to make your Valentine’s Day celebration one you’ll never forget.

Going out
Deciding the where and what for Valentine’s can definitely be a challenge because you want this day to be as special as it can be.
You can go for ‘extravagance’ by dining at a five-star restaurant or, if ‘originality’ is more your style, why not rent a room at a favorite hotel and order room service. If you prefer to spend the evening outdoors, renting a chauffeured limousine and driving to a scenic spot for a picnic is perfect for you. Whatever you decide to do, make sure it’s something unique and creative that your partner will enjoy.

Remember that it’s the small attention to detail that makes any event memorable. Simple gestures such as opening the door and having your song playing in the car can make your partner feel special! And don’t forget the compliments, compliments, compliments! Let your partner know how great she/he looks and what a wonderful time you’re having.  This can make a world of difference and will definitely add to the entire experience!

Staying in
A cozy night for two at home can be just as special and romantic as going out. Celebrating Valentine’s Day at home can be a very rewarding experience mainly because of the tendency to feel more at ease in your own home. This can add that extra element of romance to your plans and really allow for those special moments of closeness and love. If privacy, comfort and intimacy are at the top of your list, maybe this is an option you should seriously consider.

There are plenty of ideas that could make your at-home Valentine’s celebration unforgettable. Spread a blanket on the living room floor and have an indoor picnic, read old cards and letters you sent to one another, rent your favorite romance movie, make some popcorn and hot chocolate and stay up all night watching movies and cuddling. Surprise your love with a bubble bath for two followed by dinner in bed, or if you’re feeling more creative, stage a progressive love dinner and serve each course in a different room with the dessert ending up in the bedroom… the ideas are endless!

To add an extra spark to your romantic night try these love games. Take a deck of 52 cards. Assign each card as a thing to do (for example, Aces get a kiss, etc.), shuffle the deck and spread the cards out. You and your partner take turns drawing cards. Whatever the card says to do, you must obey. Be creative with your ideas and have fun!
Another good idea is to change the game of Monopoly to ‘Loveopoly’. Change boardwalk into back rub, and Tennessee into ‘take your shirt off’. Every time you pass ‘Go’, you get a kiss and so on.

Valentine’s Day for one
No one said Valentine’s for one couldn’t be just as much fun! If Cupid finds you alone this year, don’t worry, we have romantic ideas to keep everyone happy!
A night of self-pampering is the ideal way to relax and get in a good mood. Curl up with a good book, watch a movie you’ve been meaning to see… whatever you decide, make sure it’s something completely self-focused. This day is about you. And don’t forget to send yourself a great gift too!
If you’re more in the mood for company, have a single’s party. Tell everyone to bring a valentine for someone and enjoy a night of friendly company! Watch your favorite romantic movies and serve Valentine’s Day candy or themed food. Make sure that everyone goes home with a valentine!

But remember… no matter what you decide to do, it is the people you’re with and the feelings you share together that make an event memorable!
