Spring-Summer 2019 Ready-To-Wear

Oscar de La Renta

Sarong-style wraps, pajama sets and a relaxed, new approach to evening that includes strapless bustier “going out” tops and tailored pants strutted down the SS19 runway show of Oscar de la Renta, staged on the rooftop terrace of Spring Street Studios in NYC.

The patchwork that dominated the runway of the SS19 collection was sourced by Laura Kim from a textile mill in Como, Italy, that archives the late designer’s fabrics, and the densely embroidered red blooms on a number of pieces hail originally from a vintage OdlR show.

The easy Moroccan silhouettes are inspired by Laura Kim’s summer holidays, as for the draped, sari-like Indian ones are inspired by Fernando Garcia’s trip to India.
