Fashion Trust Arabia Announces 2020 Prize Winners

Over 570 designers from across the Arab world applied to the 2020 Fashion Trust Arabia Prize. From the 25 finalists, five winners were announced on May 11, 2020.
Congratulations to Ammanii from Egypt for winning the Jewelry category; Lebanese footwear designer Andrea Wazen for winning the Accessories category; as well as Yousef Akbar from Saudi Arabia, winner of Eveningwear; Omer Asim from Sudan, winner of Ready-to-Wear, and Jordanian designer Zeid Hijazi, winner of the Franca Sozzani Award for Debut Talent. 
Due to the coronavirus global pandemic, the judging process and award announcement took place online. This year’s judges included an impressive line-up of leading fashion figures such as Elie Saab, Christian Louboutin, Olivier Rousteing, Giambattista Valli, Alber Elbaz and Diane Von Furstenberg, among others. Each of the winners will take home $200,000 and will receive mentorship by leaders in the fashion industry to help support and propel their work on an international level. They will also have the opportunity to sell their collections on Matchesfashion.com.
